If someone were looking to get into the sport boat scene today, what would be the ideal boat/class to get into and why? Viper? Melges 20? Melges 24? Laser SB3? Open 5.7? Flying Scot ... j/k.
What would be your boat of choice, and why? Just as background, I really want to get into a boat, but am completely undecided on which one.
I am looking to end my 2 year boatless stint, and am thinking seriously about a Viper. Everything I have seen or heard makes the boat sound like a good fit with a good class. Does anyone know of any good solid boats for sale? I was hping to find something under 20. I realize this may not be the most competitive boat at that price, but it would get me into the class without breaking the bank, and frankly after 2 years not sailing it will take me a year to get myself competitive.
